Nigeria WINDS UP ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2007

The 25TH session of the Nigeria Annual conference of the UMC-Nigeria area was rounded up yesterday in Zing venue of this years conference. Presided over by the Resident Bishop Kefas Kane Mavula,the one week conference was orderly conducted without the usual tensions experienced over the past few years, signifying that the healing and total reconciliation is a matter few steps. The conference had in attendance the Dean Pero Provisional annual conference Rev. Samuel Sule and a delegation of the Taraba State government who came in with a solidarity message from the Executive Governor Pharmacist Danbaba Suntai, a Christian of Lutheran extraction
The communique issued at the end of the conference indicated that most contending issues of the conflict have been resolved except for a few which it hopes to resolve before the next general conference and appreciated the contributions of sister conferences in the States German board missions ,Finland,GBGM,WACC and personalities such as Bishop Nkulu Ntanda Ntambo and Prof. Ethel Johnson among others. It further lauded the symbiotic relationship of the church and the government pledging to partner with the government and other organisations in the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic through its Rural health facility.
